KS1 Lesson 2 Plenary: Developing confidence in singing

Watch or listen to the last lesson’s performance of the Alien Shuffle and ask the class how they might improve their singing.

Work on a section of the song that the class isn’t familiar with yet, taking the time to repeat sections until the class is able to sing the section confidently.  Try running the song from the beginning and see how far they can manage.

Emphasise the need for them to stand or sit up straight, to breathe deeply but quietly before each line of the song, and to work hard on making their words clear – otherwise the aliens listening won’t understand them.

Record the performance for evidence and assessment.
