KS1 – Lesson 3 Main 1: Making a rocket

Explain to the class that they are going to work in small groups to construct their own space rocket.  Give out a variety of exciting materials including boxes, plastic bottles, paper, card, tissue paper, tape etc.  Over the course of 15 minutes, let the pupils explore the materials with no restrictions – let them go mad!

Photograph and video the creation process with an iPad.  A small team of pupils could collect footage for a later documentary on the project.
